Jennelope (she/they) is a digital and traditional mixed media artist focusing on collage, painting, and art journaling. Her work is whimsical, bold, imaginative, and playful. Her inspirations include animals, her favorite music, space themes, and repurposed materials. One of her goals is to challenge what we consider "trash" and encourage us to imagine how everyday single use items can be given a second life. She works out of her home studio in New Mexico.

Jennelope’s artistic journey began in middle school when she started participating in her school’s theater and choir programs. In 2016 she won her high school’s Excellence In Drama award. Later that same year, Jennelope started taking adult beginner ballet classes and quickly developed a passion for dance as well. In 2018, Jennelope began studying for her BFA in Musical Theater in Seattle, Washington. When the COVID-19 Pandemic halted her studies, she took the opportunity to reflect on how she was evolving as an artist and chose not to finish her degree.
From 2021-2023, Jennelope underwent extensive treatment for Depression, Anxiety, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. During this time, she participated in Art Therapy which allowed her to challenge her perfectionism and practice mindfulness in her creative process. Creating art for herself, on her own terms, without external pressure was a liberating experience.

Jennelope began making jewelry in late 2023 and began exploring art journaling, painting, and collage in 2024. She participated in her first art show Pancakes & Booze in October 2024. She exhibited five mixed media pieces including her largest work to date, B.A.C (Big Ass Collage), a 36x36in 3D mixed media piece made entirely of repurposed materials. When she’s not in the studio, Jennelope can be found singing, playing piano, listening to the Sad Boyz podcast and cuddling her cat Jasmine.
